Hamilton 4992b Pocket Watch Repair
Overhaul Service of a 1942 Hamilton Navigator’s Watch used in World War II
“Randall, My family thanks you – for bringing back to full working order, this piece of history. This Hamilton 4992B, from my father’s service. It is an honor to have it on my desk, ticking away flawlessly, and by the way, it keeps amazingly accurate time now, after you repaired it. My father, Don, Army Air Force, flew dozens of combat missions as Navigator of a B-17 Flying Fortress, in the last years of WWII. And this very Hamilton 4992B was with him on all his missions. It no doubt served him well, navigating through enemy territory, on so many critical missions over Austria, Germany, Italy, and more. Guiding young men, boys really, strapped into that B-17 flying fortress, helping to liberate Europe from fascism. If timepieces could get citations and medals, this 4992B would have gotten a few of the Oak Leaf Clusters that Don was awarded for his service in the European theatre of WWII.”
Thanks to all the veterans who have bravely fought and served this country in time of war. Thanks for reading this post.
