Overhaul Service of Two Aurora Pocket Watches
Aurora Watch Company, 1883-1892. Aurora, Illinois. The company started in 1883. The first pocket watches were 18 size and sold in 1884. The factory produced about 100 movements per day. The company was the first to use the Hurd’s Pat Regulator on the moments. Also, Aurora was the first to produce 6 size watches. The company planned on setting up one dealer per town to sell and service the watches. In 1892, the company was sold to The Columbian Watch Company in Lancaster, PA. The name was later changed to Hamilton. These Aurora Watches would be considered Pre-Hamilton. The Aurora factory was destroyed by fire December 17, 1989. A park now resides on the property.

These two Aurora 18s size Hunter Pocket Watches were fully disassembled, cleaned and lubricated. Reassembled and adjusted. Watches placed on extended testing. Watch overhaul service complete.
