Ingersoll Pocket Watch Repair
Overhaul Service of a Circa 1910 Private Label Ingersoll Pocket Watch
This novel and rare Ingersoll with a private label of Doctor P. Ordway, has an interesting story. Dr. Ordway of Camden, Maine, circa 1900’s, was a quack doctor who sold plasters that he claimed to have miraculous curative powers. The plasters could absorb poisons that cured everything from malaria, to heart disease, arthritis and even deafness, it was claimed. He would publish advertising circulars called “Message of Hope” full of testimonials of his curative plasters and wild claims. This watch is rare piece of history from Camden Maine during a time when Snake Oil Salesmen peddled their products throughout the land..
The Pocket Watch was carefully disassembled and cleaned. The watch was reassembled and lubricated. The balance and hairspring were adjusted. The watch was placed on extended testing. Overhaul Repair Service Complete.
