Red Baron Micro-Sculpture Watch by Randall Zadar
A Micro-Sculpture Invicta Watch, Tribute to The Red Baron Airplane
Here is another Micro-Sculpture Watch. This time I made a Micro-Sculpture of the Famous Red Baron Airplane. The plane is sculpted from wax and resin and is mounted on the seconds hand. The plane is very light and does not affect the timekeeping of the watch. It is fun to watch the plane fly around the dial and is very relaxing. There is a video below which shows the plane in action. This watch is a one-of-a-kind, and not for sale.
Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, also known as the “Red Baron”, was a fighter pilot with the German Air Force during World War I. He is considered the ace-of-aces of the war, being officially credited with 80 air combat victories.
The Fokker Dr.I, often known simply as the Fokker Triplane, was a World War I fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. The Dr.I saw widespread service in the spring of 1918. It became famous as the aircraft in which Manfred von Richthofen gained his last 19 victories, and in which he was killed on 21 April 1918. Richthofen’s all-red Dr.I was serial 425/17
