Porsche Design Wristwatch Repair
Repair Service of Quartz Porsche Design Wristwatch using an ETA Movement
This Porsche Design Wristwatch using a high-grade ETA 251.471 23 Jewel movement was sent in for service. The owner said the watch was fairly new and was stopping intermittently. I tested the watch for two weeks and it ran fine. Then one day it stopped. The second’s hand was vibrating back and forth and I figured it was a mechanical problem. I decided to take the movement apart instead of just replacing it as I was curious about what was jamming the gear train.
I removed the movement from the case, the dial and the calendar works. Then I noticed a mysterious extra register hand floating around under the calendar works. The hand does not belong to this watch and how it ended up in there is a mystery to me. I removed the hand, reassembled the watch and it runs great. Hand cleaned case. The watch was placed on extended testing. Service Complete
