Repair of a Vintage 1915 Elgin Grade 417 Watch
This 1915 vintage Elgin Wristwatch was disassembled and cleaned. The watch was reassembled, lubricated. Installed new hairspring and adjusted position. Poised balance. Installed timing washers to the balance. Adjusted and placed watch balance in-beat. Adjusted balance jewels. Adjusted pallet fork guard pin. The crystal was replaced. Dial was restored by hand painting and preserving the original marks. Hands were refinished. Hand polished case. Installed new watchband. Watch placed on extended testing. Repair complete.
