Service and restoration of an vintage The Alton Pocket Watch
This very interesting “The Alton” Pocket Watch came in for service and restoration. This watch was made by the Western Clock Manufacturing Company from Lasalle, Illinois and is an early version of the later Westclox Watch Company. This watch features an absolutely beautiful patina on the case. The watch was disassembled, cleaned, polished and lubricated. A custom bronze bow was created and cast using Lost Wax Casting. The crown was replaced to better match the case. The dial was removed, scanned into Photoshop, cleaned and reprinted. Oil paints were used to add an antique effect on the dial. Hands were custom fitted. A new crystal was installed. Placed on extended testing. Restoration complete.

To set the time on an Alton Pocket Watch, carefully remove back cover using your fingernail. Locate small brass dial, turn to the correct time
