Dueber-Hampden Wristwatch Repair
Repair Service on a Vintage Dueber-Hampden Watch made in Canton Ohio
John C. Dueber was a watch case maker in 1864. Because of an anti-trust law that passed and a boycott of his cases in 1888, Mr. Dueber purchased the Hampden Watch Company and moved both factories to a dual set of buildings in Canton Ohio. By 1890 they were producing quality watches. In 1925 both companies merged to become the Dueber-Hampden Watch Company.
In 1927 John Dueber sold the company and in 1930 the business and all the equipment was purchased and sent to Russia. By 1931, the first Russian State Watch Company was producing watches based on the Hampden pattern. The company produced pocket watches, stopwatches, and wristwatches including dive watch for the Russian Navy. Production stopped in 1970.
Dueber-Hampden Watches are sought after by collectors because of their quality. This Ohio company is credited with producing the first 16 size 23 jewel movement made.
This Dueber-Hampden Watch circa 1925 was overhauled and cleaned. The original dial and hands were carefully preserved. The movement was disassembled and cleaned. Reassembled, lubricated and regulated. Case hand cleaned. Watch placed on extended testing. Watch repair complete.
